The Tension And The Spark is the second studio album by Darren Hayes, released in 2004. The album was a change for Hayes, taking a style more electronic and dark for this record. He also delves deeper into more personal matter.

The first single was “Pop!ular”, released in August 2004. “Darkness” was the second in November. “Dublin Sky” was the planned third single, but was scrapped. “Unlovable” was released as a charity single in 2004.

The title of the album is heard in the second track, “I Like The Way”.
