This Danish shoegaze-act was formed in late 2008. Their sound is characterized by the use of large amounts of effects, a massive wall of sound, weird tunings and a psychedelic twist. Marie and Jespers melancholic pop-vocals are almost drowned in droney noise.
Daphne Dawn draws inspiration from fellow shoegazers/dream-poppers such as My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, Ulrich Schnauss, Medicine, Cocteau Twins and many others, but also from 80’s druggy acts like Spacemen 3 and Happy Mondays and krauts Can and Neu!.
The members are: Marie Lund (vocals, bass, live drums), Jesper Lundager (synths, vocals, guitars, occasional bass), Christian Hougaard (guitars, occasional bass) and Jonathan Højgaard (guitars, occasional bass).
The members are active in a large row of other projects such as post-rockers Manipulated Living (Hougaard), experimental duo Mr. Leary (Højgaard) and Jesper Lundager recently released a solo-album. Past projects include My Twin (Lund, Hougaard), Robots On A Mission From God (Lundager) and Cosey Mo (Lund, Højgaard).
