I agree, pentyharmonium. Daniel and his music was my life for the 14 unforgettable years - until i won a competition to meet him after his legendary comeback gig at The Point in Dublin in '92. This was i night i'll never forget - though not all for the right reasons. The music was, as ever, beautiful and heart-breaking and spectacular and bombastic and intimate. I could barely contain my excitement as i headed backstage after the gig to meet the man, armed with my VIP ticket and my suitcase full of memorabilia for him to sign. When i found Him in his changing room, believe me, He was a sight to behold. The perfectly sculpted hair, the majestically tanned skin... The Great Man willingly signed my 28 Original Vinyl LPs of his, and my hand-knitted Daniel O' Donnell jumper with his face in the middle. However, when i showed Him my clay figures of him and his family - sculpted by myself over 8 painstaking months - he threw them against the wall and called me a 'fucking sad waste of space.'
