Biography

Daniel Baron is a South African award-winning and chart-topping singer/songwriter and pop/rock performing artist with an astounding 8 radio hits off his debut album ‘It’s Time’. His latest release ‘Not Here’, the epic rock/rap collaboration with hip-hop star, ProVerb hit number 1 on the Kia Take40SA in July 2013 and remained at the top for 2 weeks. His mega hits, ‘All Over Now’ and ‘So Much More’ also achieved huge chart success, both peaking at #2. The latter, an inspirational anthem remained on the chart for a staggering 18 weeks and was later selected for a commercial for Africa’s major satellite television network DStv. He was selected to open for Bon Jovi in May 2013 as a part of the ‘Because We Can World Tour’. Daniel performed with his band to a crowd of 60 000 at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.

Baron won a Wawela Music Award for ‘Best Male Artist & Composer’ and was nominated for ‘Best Soundtrack in a Feature Film or Theatric Documentary’. The awards applaud South Africa’s international breakout tunes that go beyond borders to achieve success on a global scale.
With a songwriting ability that has led him to become very sought-after in the music industry, he has written songs for other artists and corporates alike.
DB’s sound ranges from inspirational and meaningful ballads to edgy pop/rock tunes with elements of electronica.

Baron is also known for his radio hits ‘Paint My Blue Sky’, ‘Different Feeling’ (Debuted on BBC Radio 2), ‘A Lion’s Heart’ (Written for his cousin who was a Cancer victim) and ‘See Thru’ ft. Lize (Reached #12 on Take40SA).
