Danibal is one of the very few Jew’s harp players in the Netherlands. He fell in love with this tiny ancient instrument in 1999 together with his interest in throat singing. As the vocalist of Dial Prisko (Utrecht NL) the Jew’s harp also claimed a place in their melancholic songs.

Despite the fact that the sounds of the Jew’s harp are very folksy and sometimes ambient, Danibal tries to make plunky pop music, involving quirky melodies and dentist impressions. His solo-project is very playful and surprisingly minimal.

Together with human beat-boxer Ramon Kool they form the duo Plunk. Their music is best to be described as freestyle, somewhere between hip hop and world music.

Danibal’s first album Ploing! (featuring three tracks from Plunk) is available for free as mp3-download under Creative Commons license:

Hello, Danni! My name is Pasha. We'll go with my girlfriend on a tour of Europe with the aim of studying jew's harp. Want to talk with the Dutch, Austrian, Italian, German jew `s harpers. Can you suggest any contacts jew `s harpers of these countries? Yet it would be interesting to visit the home of jew's harp in Amsterdam, can you hold for us a tour? Мы будем в Голландии 20-21 января. We'll be in Holland on 20-21 January. Pasha. /// PS I do not speak in English. I write this letter through a translator.
