Biography
Dani Umpi (born Daniel Umpiérrez in 197?) is an Uruguayan singer-songwriter, musician and writter, whose enduring contributions to the new pop scene of South America is yet not well known.
After years of live performances and bootlegs, Umpi releasead his first album in 2005. “Perfecto” its an “excercise of electro-pop”, a mix of pop tunes with contagious beats that features colaborations of new artists such as Lorena Nader (LaTejaPride), Supervielle, Max Capote, Qué Out, Sergio Pángaro & Baccarat, Missy L., Sabotagem y Ale Sergi (Miranda!).
He has published, also, three books, “Miss Tacuarembó” (Interzona, 2004), “Aún Soltera” (Mansalva, 2006) and “Solo te quiero como amigo” (Interzona, 2006).
