Dahlia was born in Hawaii, to an Okinawan father and an American mother. She lives in Los Angeles, but still spends a lot of time in Hawaii. Both of her parents had a busy work schedule and so she grew up being raised by her grandmother, who taught her much about Okinawa and Japanese culture.

Best described as electro-, Dahlia ‘s unique theatrical style of performance revisits Dietrich — if Dietrich had done electro disco. A unique combination of contemporary sound, old-fashioned aesthetics, and conceptual art, she has performed to critical acclaim throughout Europe and the United States.
