Almada, Portugal (1993 – 2010)

Da Weasel were a portuguese hip-hop/rock band from Almada, Portugal. They were formed in 1993 by Pac Man and Yen Sung (vocals), Jay Jay (Bass) and Armando (Samples).

Their first EP was “More than 30 motherfuckers”, totally in english, produced in 1994. After just one year, they recorded their first album “Dou-lhe com a Alma”, also the pioneer Hip-Hop record in Portugal. At the this time, Pedro Quaresma (Guitar) and Guilherme Silva (Drums), joined the group.

Two years later, 1997, Da Weasel put out in stores their second full title “3º Capítulo”. Many fans say that this was the album that changed minds in Portugal and confirmed that Pac Man is one of the greatest lyricists. Before this album came out, Virgul (vocals) joined the band and Yen left.
In 1998, they remixed “3º Capítulo”.

The last year of the millennium was awesome for them. With the new vibes of Virgul, they made a fantastic album: “Iniciação a uma Vida Banal - O Manual”. Critics loved and the song “Outro Nível” was a anthem, just like today it is.
To finish this year, they performed at Pavilhão Atlântico in Lisbon, opening for Red Hot Chili Peppers.

In August 2000, they received two awards. The silver for “3º Capítulo” and “O Manual”.

In the beginning of 2001, Da Weasel performed on the most important festivals in their country and started to produce the new record, without Armando, who left the band.
