Daïtro are a French screamo band whose combination of chaotic discord and melodic post-rock elements has entranced listeners since 2002. To date, Daïtro has released two albums: Des Cendres, Je Me Consumme, and Laisser vivre les squelettes. Other recorded material includes a 10” split with Italian screamo band Raein, a self-titled demo 7”, a 7” split with Ampere, their US tour 7” entitled Des Plaies Ouvertes Et Du Beton, and, in 2007, the charming and mellow Split with Sed Non Satiata.

About upcoming shows and tours well, you probably already noticed but we're making a pause with the band. So we unfortunately won't be able to do the split w/our dear buddies Daniel Striped Tiger and won't plan to tour or play shows either. The band has been active for almost 10 years and time has come to focus on new musical projects and/or new lives too. It doesn't mean the band is dead though, it basically just means it won't exist as it used to be. Let's call it hiatus for an undecided length of time and let's see what will happen !

The whole album reminds me of 90s emo/screamo-bands like I hate myself or The Don Martin 3; combining the indieish/punkish sound of these bands with a modern and noisy touch and lots of loud/silent dynamics! Y also proves that these Daïtro-guys are very talented musicians! Comparing this to Thursday only shows that you have just got no idea what you are talking about! Also emo/screamo is all part of the post-hardcore-thing, which only means that this music is based on hardcore-punk and tries to break the walls of genre-conventional stereotypes. Post-hardcore is there since the early 80s (remember Hüsker Dü or Rites of Spring - the first "real" emo-band?) and emo/screamo is only a part of it. Please, don't use that term that inconsiderate! Bands like Thursday are not very respective for post-hardcore at all. They just show how cheesy and commercialised punk can get! Sorry for sophism, but I just can't stand these discussions any more! :)
