Tokyo, Japan (1988 – present)

DREAMS COME TRUE (also referred to as DCT or Dorikamu by fans), is a duo from Tokyo, formed in 1988. They are renowned for their , , , fusion music, having sold more than 50 million records. DCT was started by bassist 中村正人 (Nakamura Masato) and is fronted by 吉田美和 (Yoshida Miwa), who is the band’s main singer-songwriter. They were originally a three-piece band with 西川隆宏 (Nishikawa Takahiro) (keyboards), until he departed in 2002. In 1989, they released their self-titled debut LP, Dreams Come True, selling over a million copies. Their 1992 release, The Swinging Star, was the first Japanese album to exceed 3 million in sales and for several years held the title of the best-selling Japanese-language album.

In 1993, they recorded “Winter Song” for the opening theme of the TriStar Pictures film Sleepless in Seattle and the following year recorded the song “Eternity” for the animated film The Swan Princess by New Line Cinema. In Japan, they recorded theme songs for TBS television shows, and it wasn’t long before they caught the attention of the Walt Disney company, and were hired to create musical-tunes for their television shows, and attractions at the Tokyo Disney Resort. In 2001, they composed the theme song for the Japanese release on the Disney film Atlantis, and Miwa was hired to be the voice actor for the character Audrey Rocio Ramirez in the Japanese version.

So I'm listening to Made of Gold and I'm kinda surprised. Cool sound! I didn't know what to expect having not known any of their songs besides Sweet Sweet Sweet and it's 2006 remix.

v you can listen to some of their best of to start :-) You have a cd best of their 2000's releases on "do you dreams come true?" (coupled with an original album, but it's not their best one IMO). For their older releases (1988 to nearly 2000) you can listen to their best "THE SOUL". For their original albums for the moment my fav' are MAGIC, LOVE UNLIMITED and AND I LOVE YOU.
