Over the past seven years Dj Titusz has become one of the most popular Djs in Budapest.He started playing at Tilos Radio,Budapests erstwhile pirate radiostation -now legal- in 1992.In 1994 he and fellow Tilos Dj Tadeus started X-lab,a Dj partnership which organized parties Catering to the underground and featuring tribal acid house ,dub and Later trip-hop and bigbeat styles.X-lab created a psychedelic atmosphere Which never existed in Budapest.In late 1996 Titusz started playing solo, Continuing with the psychedelic sound of X-Lab but playing to a wider audience. He now plays every week not only at underground parties but at clubs around the country. For the past year he has been producing his own music, one song released on the Future Sound of Budapest II compilation (1998, Juice Records), and another on the just released Budapest 2000 compilation (BMG).His remix of French band Noir Desir’s ‘666.667 Club’ appeared on their remix CD in 1998. Alongside his own music he is producing the music for several hip-hop bands, collaborating with avantgarde cellist Markos Bertalan in a project called Budbudas, creating remixes for local underground groups like such as Korai Orom, and producing music for Hungarian films and TV programmes. Titusz works in association with Tilos Radio and I&I Records, both of which, among other things, organized parties and concerts, including Dub Syndicate and eventually Audioactive, as well as bringing British acts such as Freestylers, Dub Pistols, Asian Dub Foundation, Ed Rush and Jon Carter to Budapest.
