DJ Rise is DJ and producer Ryan Anthony, who joined Toucan in May 2003. Rise saved up for his first synth when he got his first job, and after saving up to buy another synth and a PC, began handing out his music for clubs to play. After joining Klub DJ, a professional DJ / dancers agency based in Daventry, he was made moderator for their forums. Rise started his own radio station called Dance Frequency in association with Klub DJ, and took charge of the DJ line up for Music Live (in association with the BBC) in South West Wales for two years running. Rise closed Dance Frequency radio in summer 2002 due to work commitments.
With the focus back on production, Rise produced his tune “Insane” in early 2003 featuring talented singer LyDia, which has already received two newspaper write-ups, and praise from top producers such as Rich Hikins and Ian Van Dahl. The tune has also featured in a promotion for PS2 game “Shinobi” on Sky TV. After this impressive beginning, Rise chose “Insane” as his first track to promote with Toucan Music. Since then he’s also written more new tunes, the slightly more understated, mellow “House Trancefusion” (remixed by JMD), the uplifting melodic stormer “Tribal Echo” and the bouncy trance track “Stratosphere”. In 2006, influenced by the dance scene in Thailand, his track “Pattaya Boom Boom” saw Rise explore a more house orientated style.
