DJ Invisiboy is a mash up DJ hailing from Portland, OR in 2003, Originally, Abraham Ingle, played on CD-Js, but in 2011, he switched to a Novation Launchpad/Laptop combination.
Though he is often compared to Girl Talk, he sees himself as occupying the space between artists like Girl Talk and traditional mash-up DJs.
All of his publicly available tracks can be downloaded from his official site, www.djinvisiboy.com.
From DJ Invisiboy’s official site, www.djinvisiboy.com:
If I’m known for anything, it’s creating raging dance parties out of thin air. From my very first gig (Holocene, 2005) when furniture had to moved out of the room mid set to create more room for dancing, or the infamous house party that left a broken back porch, front windows, and a table in its wake, (the host was still all smiles despite this – I swear,) I’ve always been able to get a crowd moving.
Part of this is due to track selection and knowing how to push faders around, but I think it really comes from being someone who has always loved to dance, and loves to dance while DJing. When the crowd sees me moving, it makes them more free to move, and we spend the night giving each other more and more freedom to have fun and go crazy.
I’ve had a residency at The Fez (Shut Up and Dance w/ DJ Gregarious) and have DJ’d pretty much everywhere you’d expect awesome young people to be going crazy (Tube, Holocene, Doug Fir, Berbati’s Pan, etc…)
