Teesside (2005 – 2009)

DARTZ! were William K. J. Anderson (bass and vocals), Henry J. Carden (guitar) and Philip J. Maughan (drums and vocals). They formed in Teesside, North East England (UK) at the beginning of 2005 and have since gone on to play literally hundreds of gigs all over Europe - touring with the likes of Get Cape Wear Cape Fly, Hot Club De Paris, I Was A Cub Scout, The Rumble Strips and The Research along the way; as well as sharing stages with everybody from Melt Banana to The Futureheads to Make Believe to Badly Drawn Boy. However, they announced they were to call it a day on July 2nd 2009.

Their debut album This Is My Ship was released in the UK on Xtra Mile Recordings on 12th February 2007, and has recently been released in North America via the legendary Deep Elm label.
An 8-track mini-album, The Sad History Of The Village Of Alnerique, was released on 22nd September 2008 in the UK on Xtra Mile.

I love all of Alnerique. From my listens, I've been guessing: This group of folks were in debt to someone and so they took off (ran off, really) and built a wee village in a place that they thought was safe from their debts. It was great for a while, and things started to thrive. Until one day the debtees, whom I suppose were probably on the lookout for the Alneriquers for a very long time, finally scouted them and sent an army of sorts to take their lives. Some got away and that's the basis for "The End, Moving On". Something like that, at least!

Can someone please tell me where I can buy or download "Dedalus" and "Latin and Greek". I'm having a hard time finding these two tunes... I'd really appreciate if someone could send then to me :) Dartz! rules!
