Biography

“Daddy Daughter Praise” is a single father and daughter, who currently reside in SW Colorado. They utilize instrumentation that fuses genres - blending acoustical tenderness with powerfully driven drum and bass, or choirs with techno synthesizers, or contemporary House electronica with melodic, soundtrack-styled theme. This music fits no one genre, yet mixes the "new and the old," having classical, jazz, techno, and R&B elements.

The D-D-Praz studio started from a father's motivation to arrange and record music for his daughter, Moriah Gen, to sing and dance. That evolved to them producing instrumental tracks for Christian Praise accompaniment and interpretive dance and ambient Worship.

In 2008 Moriah asked her daddy, "can we do Christmas music, too?" Three years later, due to her interest and encouragement, they have released their first EP, "D-D-Praz Christmas." Their debut album was released November 26, 2010.

Both acknowledge their talents and passions are gifts from God, thus they believe these are to be used to honor their Creator. Current trends are in promoting interpretive music and dance as tools useful for global evangelism. We support artists with alternative genres of Gospel music, particularly Christian Dance and Techno, Rap/Hip-Hop, and Progressive Jazz/Modern Instrumental. D-D-Praz acknowledges distinctions between Praise music, Interpretive Worship, and corporate Worship; where only culture and tradition defines the employment of music.

Biography:
Michael had musical training in classical piano and melodic percussion through high school and college, taught himself guitars, and most recently practices with a Naive flute. In the late 80's and 90's, Michael played with several aspiring bands and musicians as a keyboardist in Louisiana and New Mexico. Briefly after college, Michael applied his musical and recording knowledge to sound production for performing arts. It was over a decade Michael had no musical pursuits at all, until their daughter Moriah was born.

Moriah has studied piano and participated in children's theater. She began singing in churches at the age of 6. Mo is actively involved in all D-D-Praz productions, having acquired a keen sense of sound and synth design; and is always "behind the scenes" generating project ideas and micro-managing them. Moriah has acquired a remarkably diverse and intense interest in all genres of music - from Pop, to Grime; to composers like Holst, or Brazilian and Argentinean guitar virtuosos. It's because of her interests and desire to sing and dance that D-D-Praz was even conceived!!

Both currently work with a local Christian Praise and Worship Band, the Holy Rollers.
