Biography
“Daddy Daughter Praise” is a single father and daughter, who currently reside in SW Colorado. They utilize instrumentation that fuses genres - blending acoustical tenderness with powerfully driven drum and bass, or choirs with techno synthesizers, or contemporary House electronica with melodic, soundtrack-styled theme. This music fits no one genre, yet mixes the “new and the old,” having classical, jazz, techno, and R&B elements.
The D-D-Praz studio started from a father’s motivation to arrange and record music for his daughter, Moriah Gen, to sing and dance. That evolved to them producing instrumental tracks for Christian Praise accompaniment and interpretive dance and ambient Worship.
In 2008 Moriah asked her daddy, “can we do Christmas music, too?” Three years later, due to her interest and encouragement, they have released their first EP, “D-D-Praz Christmas.” Their debut album was released November 26, 2010.
Influences:
Classical and Baroque composers and Techno (whew), 70’s classic rockers like Emerson, Lake, and Palmer; King Crimson; Queen; and Yes. Every Latino/Jazz Female “Lounge” vocalist like Basia, Sade, D’Sound, Anita O’Day, and Ella Fitzgerald.
Band Interests:
Both acknowledge their talents and passions are gifts from God, thus they believe these are to be used to honor their Creator.
