Integral Birth (3:52)

Cover of Traced in Air

From Traced in Air and 2 other releases

Integral Birth is one of the three song of the Promo 08 which was intended as a promo for record labels. The promo leaked to the internet and the rest is history. The other two songs on the promo are Adam’s Murmur and Evolutionary Sleeper, however this particular song did not leaked. Noone knows why. The internet version contained the live version of the song that was recorded 2007 in norway.

If this song were a lady I would take her to a nice seafood restaurant, drop her off at her home at a decent time, call her the next day just to talk, continue to court her, marry her, and have several kids and a successful and happy marriage where we live happily ever after.

Still think the growls could've been better, but I fully understand & respect the opinion that the stark contrast thereof is what makes it so good.

The contrast between clear voice and growling is just amazing in this song! They totally fit together... I got this song stuck in my head, and I like that xD

I like the growls. Actually, this song and the way growls contrast with clean vocals was what got me into Cynic in the first place.

Yeah, the growls are too "raw" for this music. The raspiness doesn't work here at all. Should either have had deeper growls (not I-don't-have-to-actually-mutter-a-word-cause-it-sounds-the-same-no-matter-what deep, like in some of Cannibal Corpse's stuff!) or perhaps some screams - or simply none of it. Or, dare I say it, hardcore-ish harsh vocals, for the few seconds they are present. Could be fitting. Bah, ANYTHING but this.
