    This alternative rock band from Mexico City was formed in 1995 by ex-Jaguares guitarist José Manuel Aguilera. La Barranca recorded their first album in 1996, El Fuego de la Noche, with a small label called Opción Sónica. This was followed by 1998's Tempestad, released by BMG, and after signing with Universal's associate label Manicomio, the band released its third album in 2000, Rueda de los Tiempos. Denzura, their last album, was named “one of the best 10 Latin albums from 2003” by Rolling Stone Magazine, which has also praised them as “the most elegant band in the Mexican rock scene.”
