A Short Biography

Cubehead was originally formed in Helsinki, Finland 2002, with a simple idea that remains today - to make heavy rock music with a groove that sticks to your ear and makes your brain come back asking for more.

The original lineup included founding members, ex-Gandalf/ex-The Scourger guitarist Harri Hytönen and brothers Mikko(Rivendell) and Otto Mäkelä (Discordia). They were eventually joined by Jens Kirkland on vocals. This original line-up recorded a demo in 2004, and played a few gigs before other musical commitments forced the band on hiatus.

In August of 2006, Cubehead activated itself again, the lads started writing new material with former Tippurimylly frontman, Jan Fagernäs[/bandmember, on second guitar and Sami Niemelä on drums. The newly-reformed Cubehead recorded a demo Control with two songs in November 2006. In summer 2007 they released their first ep called Ignorance with five songs, and after Mikko decided to concentrate on his family instead, recruited a new, classically trained bass player Johannes Niva.

Furious live performances from Helsinki to Kokkola followed, but in mid-2008 private commitments took Jan towards the city of London and Cubehead decided to carry on as a four-piece.
