About This Track

“Celestica is actually the name of the company in our home town that produces plastic, someone who worked there committed suicide by jumping into a large container of boiling liquid plastic and the workers couldn’t stop the machine so the body melted and became part of the stream of liquid plastic which they use to create products with.” - Ethan Kath

I think Ethan Kath and Alice Glass need to build off of their strengths. Presumably forthcoming records will be more intentional collaborations than the much appreciated first offering. What I suggest is that they embrace Alice Glass's punk rock ethos but fuse it with Ethan Kath's vibrant mixes. I think that they should try to write an album length saga about a video game hero, who coordinates and leads a velvet revolution. Something along the lines of the constructive criticism of punk rock lyricists like Operation Ivy winning the battle against its dragon, and developing into a danceable opera. I think it should sound gritty and dirty for the first two thirds, but erupt in the late middle with a joy-gasm, and then end with Alice letting her taut and emotional voice erupt with its full glory. It should sound like an angel has been unshackled, unchained, and set free from a cage. It should sound like sheer triumph. The final track should be a dreamy cover of "We shall Overcome".
