Cryodeck is a one man effort to create original sounds and incorporate them to rap music. He’s goal is to mesh classic brooklyn, or New York style rap from the late 80s through late 90s with modern elements from today’s underground rap, Drum N Bass, and electronica.

Borned in the Bronx, New York, early 80s, his family moved to Dominican Republic when he was just 2 years old and was raised in the tropical island. He went to a private catholic school through elementary and onto his junior education where he graduated and moved back to the Bronx, in New York city. Where he “had no choice” but to be influenced by the rap/hip hop culture of the Bronx, where rap potentially was created. Ironically, he did not always listened to rap. He listened mostly to metalcore at the beginning with favorite acts such as Coal Chamber, Static X, Ultraspank and so on. Often moshing at local venues like the famous CBGBs in the village only to fall victim of the moshing onslaughts that are Hatebreed, Soulfly, Slipknot, and moving onto the heavier, E-town Concrete, Sworn Enemy, Candira and other “underground” acts.

Cryodeck likes his beats dark, gritty, atmospheric, science fictional, and above all, storytelling.

The bass aspect in his beats appear to be heavily influenced by Drum N Bass titans such as Ed Rush & Optical. While synths are also influenced by the same music genre with notable acts being Teebe, Ed Rush, Photek, Stakka and Skynet. This is apparent in Cryodeck’s Sirius track where the bass fools the listener by creating a saxophone like wave shape to later becoming a swirling heavy bass sound which can be heard in the Solaris track as well.
