The Bay Area-based alternative rock quartet Creeper Lagoon comprised singer/guitarist Ian Sefchick, multi-instrumentalist Sharky Laguana, drummer David Kostiner, and bassist Geoffrey Chisholm (later replaced by Dan Carr).
Their debut LP “I Become Small and Go” appeared on the Nickelbag label in 1998 and SPIN named them the best New Artist that same year.

EP album “Watering Ghost Garden” followed two years later before the LP album “Take Back the Universe and Give Me Yesterday ” that was issued in early 2001.
Shortly after this release, Ian left the band, to form the now defunct Captain Paper and his currently ongoing solo project called Ghost Baby, followed by other members and leaving Sharky to pull together a new outfit.
This time with Sharky on vocals, Creeper Lagoon managed to release 2 more albums: “Remember the Future” in 2002 and “Long Dry Cold” in 2006.

I am hearing one of these guy's songs for the first time (first song too), and it's "Under the tracks". The lead vocals sounds identical to Ryan from Guster, I mean down to a pea. Did he guest sing on this song? It is difficult for me to think this is not Ryan... I didn't know a band could sound this much like Guster. Creepy. It's like Guster 2.0.. I like it, but it's like.. what on earth? Are they copy cats? Who came first here?

Got all their albums on a whim after hearing "Under The Tracks" so glad I did. However, honestly, "Long Dry Cold" isn't too my taste :P

The Creeper forum isn't working for me. Anyone else having a hard time registering an account? Sharky (or whoever runs the site for him) has not responded to my emails.

People mistaking these guys for Coldplay is getting out of hand. Coldplay - Under the Tracks has about 30,000 plays now.

Um, the group is still together, just sans Ian. They came out with an album called 'Long Dry Cold' in 2006.

Wish the band would get back together and record the follow-up to Take Back the Universe. Still one of my favorite albums ever...
