    = 2010
The first decade of the 2000s is over now and we're facing the new 2010. I don't really know what I shall expect from this year. Will it kick-ass, or will it be just a normal year?
One argument for a good 2010 is the announced release of Slash's first solo-album. Well, usually it's his 3rd one, but the two longplayers It's Five O'Clock Somewhere and Ain't Life Grand were published under the name of Slash's Snakepit, a band founded by Slash. He was the only one who played on both albums, the rest changed, but officially these were no solo-albums.
Apart from this, I really hope to see another new Album of AC/DC, Guns N' Roses or some other great Rock Band. And yeah, I still call them Guns N' Roses although Axl Rose is the only one left from the original Line Up.
My first album in 2010 was ordered just 3 hours after New Year's Eve. It's the Guns N' Roses Live Era '87-'93, a live album I didn't have yet (and yeah, it wonders me too that I didn't have that one before :D).
Maybe I'll visit some good concerts in 2010. I hope John Fogerty (old Creedence Clearwater Revival frontman) will come to Bonn again. It was just too awesome in 2008 and '09 he didn't come :( . We gotta see.

Song of the day is PlayIt's So Easy by Guns N' Roses. It was the first song of 2010 for me :D .

I hope all of you enjoy 2010!! Rock on!

Creedence Clearwater Revival - Bayou Country
Very good, just like their first one. Their sound brings back memories of a summer. And Proud Mary brings back memories of Rolnik Sam W Dolinie.

Status Quo - Ma Kelly's Greasy Spoon
Getting better. This one is more hard rocking than previous. And that's how I like it.

    Slade - Slayed?
This album is also a progress. Sound is little harder, songs are very enjoyable. Good work.

    David Bowie - Pin Ups
Weak. Again I should say. Not even a cover of See Emily Play can make me like this.

Rather not good. Few of the songs are nice but other sound like they haven't been finished. Maybe it needed a little more work.

    Pearl Jam - Ten
That's a good way to begin career. Pearl Jam's debut is a wonderful piece of grunge and alternative rock music. Worth listening too.

Mudvayne - The End of All Things to Come
I like numetal but they are too heavy for me. No good melodies, only screams that sound like they are coming from the depths of hell. Not for me.

    Listened before:

    Gorillaz - Gorillaz
    The Smashing Pumpkins - Gish

Another thing just for my own personal reference.

My 25 most played artists of 2009:
    1. Ween
Ween holds on to the number one slot again. Did I get anything new by them? Aside from their new live album and some rarities, not really. I just love 'em so much that the plays never stopped rolling in.

    2. The Rolling Stones
Kept on truckin' with the Stones this year, adding the albums 12 X 5, Emotional Rescue, December's Children, and Steel Wheels to my collection, plus the live bootleg Get Yer Leeds Lungs Out! I still like pretty much everything I've heard from them even if I am beginning to supposedly scrape the bottom of the barrel with them according to public opinion. We'll see how much I like Undercover and Dirty Work in 2010...

    3. R.E.M.
More R.E.M. mania this year, adding Green, New Adventures in Hi-Fi, Fables of the Reconstruction, and Monster to my collection this year. Still love this band.

    4. Bob Dylan
Near the year's opening I bought John Wesley Harding, The Times they are A-Changin', and Another Side of Bob Dylan, all great albums. Later in the year I also got Nashville Skyline. I'll probably get more Bob in 2010.

    5. The Beatles
I've never really cared about The Beatles THAT much, but in 2009 I did buy Magical Mystery Tour (which has become one of my favorite Beatles albums), as well as Let It Be and Help! (which were a more underwhelming). I think I'm done with the Beatles for now, Help pretty much assured me that I don't really need to check out their early albums and I now have all their later stuff (aside from Yellow Submarine). We'll see.

    6. Minutemen
I only bought one album by them this year, Double Nickels on the Dime, but it was so long that it landed them at #6. Great album though.

    7. Stone Temple Pilots
In 2009 I went through a big 90s rock phase. Apparently Stone Temple Pilots came away most victorious from this mini-obsession. I bought their albums Core and Purple this year, and played both of them quite a bit.

    8. Wilco
I found out I love Wilco this year, adding Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, Summerteeth, and A Ghost is Born without much hesitation. Summerteeth is probably my favorite of the three, but Jesus etc. is hands down my favorite song of 2009 (I'm fairly out of touch with actual modern music, so I relate everything to the year I bought it rather than the year it actually came out, that's the way all the cool people are doing it these days).

    9. Live
Bought Throwing Copper and Secret Samadhi this year as part of my 90s obsession. Throwing Copper is one of the best albums I bought all year (and definitely the best thing that came out of this 90s phase, oh man did I ever hear some weak albums) but I could take or leave Secret Samadhi.

    10. Nirvana
Yeah I decided to take the opportunity to complete my Nirvana collection during this 90s phase, picking up Bleach and MTV Unplugged. I still need Incesticide but considering how underwhelmed I was by those two it might be a while before I get it.

    11. Radiohead
I didn't even get any new albums by these guys this year, and as far as I know I didn't listen to them at ALL after wearing myself out from 2008's toeunit12 Radiohead mania. Whatever. I'm not as in love with them as I once was but they're still a good band. Looking forward to whatever they do next.

    12. Bush
I bought Sixteen Stone and Razorblade Suitcase during 90s mania and was surprised at how good they both were. Sixteen Stone packed six amazing anthems in along with six painful (and easily skippable!) filler tracks, and Razorblade Suitcase was a sparse, bitter, Albini-produced monster that was definitely one of my biggest surprises of the year.

    13. Grateful Dead
Got American Beauty and Workingman's Dead for Christmas this year, so the Dead got in a lot of last-minute plays :D Earlier in the year I also downloaded some live bootlegs of theirs which couldn't have hurt.

    14. Creedence Clearwater Revival
CCR! My favorite new discovery of 2009, these guys are so tight. I bought Cosmo's Factory and Green River and I'm so in love with the both of them. Wish I'd have hurried up and gotten Willy and the Poor Boys already so CCR could be higher but I guess we'll have to wait until 2010!

    15. Alice in Chains
More 90s. I loved these guys when I was a kid and I finally picked up Facelift and their self-titled album this year. Hilariously I didn't pick up their new album Black Gives Way to Blue. I guess that would have been too current and relevant for me, Johnny P. Trappedinthepast!

    16. David Bowie
I love Bowie with all my heart, for whatever reason the only album I bought by him this year was Low and while I didn't play it as much as previous Bowie album's I've purchased, I still played the old stuff enough to slot him in at #16.

    17. Collective Soul
I bought their self titled album during 90s mania. I honestly don't remember a thing about it but I think I liked it overall. I downloaded some of their singles in 2008 and they were a great singles band. Oh yeah I downloaded the lead single of their new album too. Aren't I great?! The most relevant thing I've done all year!

    18. Madonna
I didn't buy any Madonna albums this year but I did download some of her hits. I'm kind of surprised she charted so high, I didn't think I played her this much. Oh well. I like her, in the 80s she was an unstoppable force.

    19. The Flaming Lips
Another promising new discovery, I bought The Soft Bulletin in April and Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots a few days ago. Will explore further

    20. Frank Zappa
What?! I didn't buy any new Zappa albums this year?! Something should be done... Oh well Frank is one of my rocks I can always come back to, so even though he didn't put any new blood into my collection this year he still generated enough plays to make the cut.

    21. The Notorious B.I.G.
Bought one album by Biggie (Ready to Die) and it has lots of songs on it so he made it. It's cheating almost. Oh well, a cool album anyway.

    22. Stereolab
I bought my first new Stereolab in two years this year, with Dots and Loops. I don't really like it. Oh well Stereolab is still a great band and it looks like I still played them enough for them to make it.

    23. Dogbowl
Cyclops Nuclear Submarine Captain was a great album I acquired that happens to be both really long and really good. They probably deserve to be here more than other long-album wonders Biggie, Minutemen and NSB (below). Check them out if you haven't, and if you like Mercury Rev.

    24. Natural Snow Buildings
Downloaded their Dance of the Moon & Sun album in 2009. It's a pretty good album but really the only reason they're here is because their album was long.

    25. Elvis Costello
I finally got another Elvis Costello album, Armed Forces and it's... good, but I'm not as blown away as I was by his first two. Anyways cool stuff for certain and I'm glad EC made the list.

My 10 most played albums of 2009:
    1. Minutemen - Double Nickels on the Dime
    2. Live - Throwing Copper
    3. Dogbowl - Cyclops Nuclear Submarine Captain

  • Divagações Sonoras #7 - Lily Allen: A mesma garota igual a todas no fim das contas...

    1 Jan 2010, 04:46 by RaulRoque

Em "It's Not Me, It's You", no entanto, Allen declara sua maturidade desrespeitando os mais arcaicos. A diferença é, ele nunca é chato.

PlayHe Wasn't There? Seu pai - nenhuma mágoa. A apologética PlayBack To The Start?

  • How varied is your taste?

    22 Dec 2009, 17:30 by tonyab1708

First, make a list of your top-20 artists overall. Then, for each of these artists, add the 8 most similar artists to your list. Delete any duplicates, count up the number of entries on your list and this will give you some idea of how eclectic your listening habits are. A score of 9 represents an extremely unvaried musical taste while a 160 represents an extremely varied one.

Creedence Clearwater Revival - Creedence Clearwater Revival
Pretty good one. Vocals are very enjoyable and guitar work is well done. Sounds like south.

    Status Quo - Spare Parts
Better than their debut, nice to listen but I think their next ones will show something more. Still, it's a progress comparing to predecessor.

    Slade - Play It Loud
This is a really good release. I like the direction they're taking. Fine piece of rock music.

    David Bowie - Aladdin Sane
Bowie isn't in my top league, neither is this album. Nothing I'd like to get back to in future.

    Van Halen - Diver Down
Since their first album I haven't heard a bad release by them and this one is not an exception. Maybe not as good as some previous but still keeps the standard.

    The Smashing Pumpkins - Gish
Now this what i call a great album. Excellent guitar work. Some songs are energetic, other got this atmospheric slow tempo but they all are good.

    Gorillaz - Gorillaz
Not exactly my type of music. Nice and original melodies, not to mention this whole virtual band concept but only in Clint Eastwood and 19-2000 I can find something worth getting back to.

    Listened before:
