Babalon A.D. (So Glad for the Madness) (5:36)

Cover of Damnation and a Day

From Damnation and a Day and 3 other releases

Based on the book ‘120 Days of Sodom’ by notoriously famous Marquis De Sade which was also made into a film directed by Pier Paolo Pasolini entitled as ‘Salò o le 120 giornate di Sodoma’.
It tells the story of four wealthy male libertines who resolve to experience the ultimate in orgies. To do this, they seal themselves away for four months in an inaccessible castle with a harem of 46 victims, mostly young male and female teenagers, and engage four women brothel keepers to tell the stories of their lives and adventures. The women’s narratives form an inspiration for the sexual abuse and torture of the victims, which gradually mounts in intensity and ends in their slaughter.
The work remained unpublished until the twentieth century. In recent times it has been translated into many languages, including English, Japanese and German. Due to its themes of sexual violence and cruelty, it has frequently been banned.

After so many years of listening CoF, I recently found out this is actually great MADNESS. Still strong and psychodelic, I wonder why its so underrated? For me its top 10 along with 'No Time To Cry' cover

This song is shit. Generic riffs with no melody haphazardly connected by nonsensical transitions and random silences. How can anyone like this mess? Much better songs elsewhere on the album.

This song introduced me to Cradle of Filth and it's still one of my favourites. Great lyrics, music and video.

I hate Salo movie, but this clip is a masterpiece. And the songs is one of CoF's best.

Seeing the COF video I was really expecting to see a good, disturbing movie, but I was kind of disappointed when i saw Salo or the 120 days of Sodom. Maybe my mind is just too messed up already.
