Was dating my now wife, Elizabeth, when this came out. Was working too much, travelling too much. Damn near wore the CD out... Great stuff!

"If you wrap yourself in daffodils, I will wrap myself in pain." That has got to be one of the best lines ever in rock'n'roll.

I love this song. Hauntingly painfully sung. Passion is a wonderful gift that should never be wasted.

I love the gentleness with which this song is sung, like a wistful lullabye.

Have to agree with Jarmalam. He sang it with such emotion, one of the best live versions of any song I've heard

Saw them last sunday at the Glasgow SECC, this song was the stand out part of the whole gig. He gave a reason why he wrote this song and said that heartache wasn't the painful part of a relationship split. It's simply not being able to say goodnight to someone at the end of the day.

Love this song. "I'll wait for you in Baton Rouge, I'll miss you down in New Orleans." It expresses so keenly how the speaker misses an old lover even as he's with someone new. "If you're the queen of California, baby, I'm the king of the rain." That line kills me every time. Why it wasn't included in "Films about Ghosts" is a mystery to me.
