Cosmic Atrophy

Cosmic Atrophy started in the very beginning of 2008 with the rather simple and straightfoward idea of “playing some metal”. Cory and Juan met and decided to see if they could get something to work for them, and came to the conclusion that playing oldschool influenced death metal with a bit of otherworldly touch to it is what they wanted. Fast forward half a year and 6 songs later and their debut full length album is complete. A deal was struck with both Suffering Jesus Productions and Metalbolic Records to release this album which is quite frankly a huge blessing to the CA duo; to have a distribution deal this early is just unspeakably excellent! Now the only thing to do is wait to see what the future holds for Cosmic Atrophy, who are still hard at work writing new material. Cosmic Atrophy signed with metal label Dark Descent Records and is planning to release their second album, which will be based on the H.P. Lovecraft Novella “At the Mountains of Madness”.

Damn, this was put together in only 6 months!? I'm listening to it 5 years later for the first time and it's still FRESH. Should appeal to OrbWeaver fans.

The most promising band in death metal for a very long time...very sad to see it come to such a halt so soon.

Presumably he correlated all of the contents of his mind and promptly went mad

Apparently he just decided to ignore everything and everyone that has anything to do with metal one day.

Does anyone actually know what happened to Cory?

I think the album should be finished without Cory, as his guitar tracks were already recorded anyway. I remember how it was supposed to come out in fall 2009...

The new album should have been done like a year ago, but Cory has seemed to drop off the face of the earth.

It's a shame that the second album is being delayed for so long. I hope everything goes well with Cory.
