Heard the Antonio Carlos Jobim version first, and loved it. Beirut and Cornelius versions next, and just as good. This song will forever be beautiful, no matter how it's done.

you're all wrong, the original version is called "aquarela do brasil", and was composed by ary barroso in 1939 and recorded first by francisco alves. the song "brazil" is merely an english version of the song. i actually like the english lyrics a lot more! original version:

The song was originally written by Geoff & Maria Muldaur, which can be found in the LP 'Pottery Pie'. Both versions are really good, Cornelius just applies his bleeps and vocoderized sounds.

This is a cover of a song in the movie Brazil, directed by Terry Gilliam. You should see it, very Orwellian.

Your show in Portland Oregon was amazing. I bought your CD sensuous, thinking it might not be that great without the video aspects of your performance, but it is my favorite CD now, even without the video. Brazil is next. Come back to Portland -Vascoderamen
