    This might be considered a self-indulgent journal entry by some. Long time ago and far away there was a band. It featured highly original lyrics something that was a scarce quality believe it or not even back in the rock-excess-drenched seventies. It seemed that rock musicians were doing everything but playing straightforward rock music (whatever that is!) back then. I guess it would be a time really represented by the late sixties and early-seventies. Perhaps this was the true mythic 'sixties' (I think an observation by someone no less than Margaret Atwood). Just about every type of music was introduced and fused into the mix and many artists/musicians were to continue to investigate and refine their ideas for decades. Nevertheless this period of creative affluence was all coming to a close by the mid-seventies. Several of these musicians, many of whom are amongst my favorites had become filthy rich or mis-leadingly appeared that way (some of them were actually nearly bankrupt). …
