Comparing the two side by side, the original release sounds fucking horrible compared to the remaster. Leave it to Kurt Ballou to pull off a perfect remastering job.

I like the remastered version for the clarity etc, but I also think the Steve Austin version is amazing; fucked up, immersive and kind of psychedelic in places.

people only say underrated too much, because in fact, there are so many great and brilliant things that don't get the recognition they deserve, while the mindless and senseless drivel that is well know is just that, mindless and senseless.

After Jane Doe, this is my favorite album with them, and sometimes I even listen to this over Jane Doe. The riffs on this album are awesome!

this album is phenomenal. so underrated. it's my second favorite Converge album. Jane Doe's my favorite.

I wouldn't say it is underrated, its just Converge started to change alot after this. The reason why they are so respected is that now they are making albums that don't sound like any other band in existance. I love WFCC, but it is alot more umm...'traditional', shall we say, than what came after it. I think it gets rated fairly for what it is, a great fucking metal/hardcore record. Bands trying to do heavy music in the same vein don't even stack up to this album, Converge are just several steps ahead of anyone.
