Communiqué is an indie rock/dance-punk band from Oakland, CA. The band originally consisted of four musicians (Rory Henderson, Ryan Massey, John Peck and Jamie Kissinger) that had previously played together, and acheived local and national underground success, under the name American Steel. With the addition of keyboardist Cory Gowan (formerly of bay area bands Amscray and Streets & Avenues), Communique was formed in 2002.

In February of 2003 their first EP, A Crescent Honeymoon, was released on Lookout! Records. Lookout! also released Poison Arrows, in June of 2004.

With the departure of Cory in the fall of 2005, the band regrouped and brought in longtime friend Steve Lowensohn (formerly of bay area band The Cost).

Communique's evolution on the last Ep its a breaktrough. I could imagine this kid would pull off the stick on their brains and make such great music. I currently love them... i liked them when poison arrow came out.. but that was it. Now.. i cant get enough. Changes are good .. good for them.
