Dexter Romulus was a man wandering lost in a cold and bitter world dominated by numbers and schedule. Life had conspired greatly against him and he was very nearly a broken man. Sleep had become infrequent and unsatisfying. After years of stumbling through life in a half-conscious daze, he thought “surely this is it… there mustn’t be more any more to it than this… just this world of ever spiraling numbers.”
It was at this time Dexter first began communicating with The Heart. Initially it’s voice was faint, barely audible, and Dexter thought himself to be mad. In the following days however, the voice grew emboldened and sure. Soon The Heart had become a constant companion. Suddenly Dexter’s life had color again. Sleep was still difficult and rare, but it no longer mattered. In this unfair and uncaring world, at least they had each other.
Most nights since, Dexter has spent the long dark hours committing to tape the many compositions of The Heart… always struggling to more accurately translate words spoken without a tongue.
