this song is actually about religion. Michael is archangel Michael from Jewish, Christian and Islamic teachings. The lyrics refer these 3 religions (the western world) role in the world we now live in, how all these religions are waiting for the end. I believe the singer thinks we would sooner have aliens (skeletons with beautiful hands) face to face with us than the characters of the myths that so many have believe in. If this happens many people of religious faiths (and non-believers too!) would not be able to accept this and become depressed (whats left to do but die?)
