The Escapist is one of the three hidden tracks from Coldplay’s Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends (2008), and one of the two that are not listed on the album sleeve. The two other hidden tracks are Reign of Love and Chinese Sleep Chant. Only “Reign of Love” is listed on the album sleeve.

“The Escapist” is the last song on the album, found after track 10 Death and All His Friends, and begins at around 3:30. It was written by Coldplay (Martin/Berryman/Buckland/Champion) and includes samples from Jon Hopkins’ Light Through the Veins.

    Słuchając Coldplay mam wrażenie takie jak bym siedział sobie na wale Oławki albo Odry mając słuchawki na uszach i wypatrywał latające mewy a w dali ojczulka z dzygarem w ustach i unoszącego się nad nim dymem, trzymającego wędkę będąc przykucniętym i oczekującym na dobre branie.
