Coheed & Cambria is a progressive rock band, formed in Nyack, New York, United States in 1995 under the name Shabutie, but in 2001 changed the name to Coheed and Cambria.
The current lineup consists of Claudio Sanchez (vocals, guitars), Travis Stever (guitars), Michael Todd (bass), and Chris Pennie (drums). Former members include Jon Carleo (bass, left in 1996), Nate Kelley (drums, left in 2001), and Josh Eppard (drums, left in 2006).
Coheed and Cambria’s albums are concept albums, revealing the plot of a storyline called “The Amory Wars”, written by lead singer Claudio Sanchez. To date, the band has released four studio albums, two live albums, and various special-edition releases, with their latest release being “Good Apollo, I’m Burning Star IV, Volume Two: No World For Tomorrow in 2007”.
In 2006, long-time members Michael Todd and Josh Eppard left the band for non-creative differences. Chris Pennie, the drummer from The Dillinger Escape Plan replaced Eppard on drums; however, due to contractual obligations, Pennie could not participate in the recording of Coheed’s 2007 album, Good Apollo, I’m Burning Star IV, Volume II: No World For Tomorrow. Instead, Taylor Hawkins of the Foo Fighters filled this role while Pennie toured with the band. Pennie is now a permanent member. In 2007 Michael Todd returned to the band.

No World for Tomorrow is tough for me to judge. Probably my least favorite album from Coheed, yet I don't really wish it was any different. I'm glad to have some of the songs on it (mother superior, the running free, no world for tomorrow), so I guess I'm happy for the album. But the rest of the songs felt so empty :/ then add a terribly weak ending. IMO the entire second half of the album felt rushed. On their next album, I kinda want to see some type of Overture, where they'll highlight some of their instrumental library (since this album will technically be the "prequel" album). I see that in a lot of concept albums and such, but I doubt Coheed will do something like that :/

These guys are pretty popular where I live (Florida, US). I was introduced to them by a friend but there are a ton of fans that I've met who like them also. Other than that either people seem to truly love the band or kind of dislike them...I've heard the vocals called annoying, and people seem to think they're 'unoriginal'. But I really like this band. I'm expecting the new album to be great :)
