Coast – Killing Off Our Friends
Biography
1 of 4 Artists:
(1): A rap artist from Houston, Texas, formerly signed to Dopehouse Records, he’s known for his ability to bring something diffrent to Houston’s rap scene. Coast’s mixtapes include “Thinking Out Loud - Vol. 1,” “Thinking Out Loud - Vol. 2,” “What Once Was Lost,” and has been featured on many others.
(2): From the label that discovered Trinityroots, sprouted The Black Seeds and created Fly My Pretties, New Zealand’s Loop Recordings Aot(ear)oa presents Coast. Not long after forming, Coast took out top prize in the 2008 Eastern Bay Battle of the Bands, judged by Kora, and then Auckland’s Rock to the Top competition in 2009. With these early achievements, it’s not surprising that the young band’s potential came to the attention of Loop’s Mikee Tucker (Trinityroots, The Black Seeds, Fly My Pretties), who quickly joined forces with them.
Encouraged by their success, and driven forward by their ties to each other as both bros and bandmates, Coast have developed a deep and complex sound, captured on their self-titled debut release Coast EP.

The band is signed to Awen Records, have released two singles, and in November 2009 released their eponymously titled studio album Coast.
