"Clubroot > Burial" is the same thing that "xPodz > Apple"

    last month

Clubroot doesn't get half the recognition he deserves in my opinion. An extremely talented producer, his production often carries a deep, mellow, euphoric vibe. For some reason the guy's always compared with Burial, and to be honest I cant see why. Burial's work is alot darker and grittier, conjuring up images of a grey, rain soaked London. Clubroot's production on the other hand has a more organic feel, with lacings of deep, warm bass and atmospheric soundscapes. Definatly a man to watch.

MrKatsumi: Kryptic Minds: a bit more harsh but equally deep. maybe Shackleton: more 'avantgard' and tribal but genius.

I could see the Burial comparison, though I think they're trying to do different things. I just discovered Clubroot and I like him more, though.

I don't think Clubroot and Burial sound that similar compared to other artists. Clubroot's sound is has a more space/outer world sound while Burial is more Urban and bleak (bleak in a good way).

There are definitely elements of dubstep in Clubroot, if your only experience of dubstep is Skrillex / Caspa / Rusko / etc then I can see why you think there aren't

Stop comparing Clubroot music with Burial. This doesn't make sense, different universes. I'm big fan of both artists however personally I appreciate more Clubroot music.

I understand the comparison to Burial. It's not that he sounds like him sonically, rather you get the same sort of feeling listening to Clubroot as you do hearing Burial for the first time; that you're hearing something masterfully created almost utterly unlike anything you've heard before.

Subaeris is a good example of someone who uses the Burial aesthetic, but adds their own twist and creates something unique. Volor Flex sounds a bit more like Burial, but I can still tell the difference between them.. Clubroot, I don't see the comparison at all really. Anyway, The Rolling Stones sound like The Beatles, but people love them equally - so what's the problem? You all should be happy there are more producers out there who make this dark sound.
