The essence of the universe – an infinite swirling mass of deep space hot vapor, coalescing through the force of physics and quantum mechanics into a single blinding throb of radiation and vast destructive/creative powers.

Portland’s Cloud of Suns starts with a guitar blues vibe and then twists it ‘til it wails for mercy. It’s head-banging music for people with plenty in their heads (what do you expect from a drummer with a degree from Oberlin Conservatory of Music?). Armed with a battalion of effects pedals that would stupefy an engineering student, Cloud of Suns spins a climactic, electric rock-trance - a razorblade peepshow…

Like a star’s gravity pulling random bodies into orbit, so too did the pull of Portland’s creative scene draw five diverse talents from various US cities until they formed into one band. Drawing on the atomic molecules of Sabbath, Zeppelin, and Floyd and irradiated by Tool, Soundgarden, and Alice in Chains, Cloud of Suns is an isotope on the farside the Periodic Table… The band draws from an album’s worth of original songs, guaranteed to propel the crowd into warp speed.

Greg Tetherow - Vocals, guitar
Robb Benham - Guitar
Tim Burke - 6 & 12 String Guitar, Lap Steel
Jim Mattingly - Drums
Jake Michels - Bass
