Josh McAllister, currently heard as Click Point and josh.f13, is an electronic artist native to the Detroit area.
McAllister began composing at the age of 15 as part of the grunge scene and eventually moved into electronic music. He has worked as part of several collaborations and under several names such as: f1lam3nt (pronounced “filament”), DeLIEN, CEOXiME, Detroit Electronica Collective (improv shows), and function13. As “function13” he has been featured on two compilation albums and also appeared on a TERRORFAKT remix album.
McAllister sites major influences such as Trent Reznor, Skinny Puppy, Dirk Ivens of Dive, Josh Wink, and Underworld as well as the environmental sounds you hear everyday.
His latest project, Click Point, is inspired by conversations with a believer in Electronic Voice Phenomena, or EVP. Through hearing these so called recordings of voices from beyond, McAllister created a “soundtrack” to the recordings.
