Biography

Clement Marfo & The Frontline are a seven-piece diverse collective from South London led by the charismatic Clement. Born to Ghanaian parents and raised in Kingston, South London, Clement has become something of a phenomenon in the underground British grime scene. Clement’s hard-hitting flow is complimented by the multi-talents of vocalist Kojo, Dion on drums, Johnny on bass, Rich and Dan on guitar and the sole female of the collective, Stacey, on keyboards and vocals.

Clement Marfo & The Frontline’s inimitable sound comes from their deft ability to fuse hip-hop, grime, rock and pop in a brilliantly idiosyncratic fashion. Known for their energetic and irrepressible live shows, the last year has seen them gain early radio support from Zane Lowe, Huw Stephens and Semtex; as well as playing live with a wide range of artists including Plan B, Example and Florence and The Machine. This summer saw them play big shows at The Coronet for ‘Let’s Go Crazy, Hoxton Bar & Grill for ‘ILUVLIVE’ and Shoreditch House for ‘Wired’. They also took part in Sara Cox’s Insanity New Music Tour, playing at universities across the UK.

The band’s first underground single ‘Overtime’ featuring UK grime rapper Ghetts will be released on 14th November. Having already been supported by 1xtra, Choice, Capital, Rinse and Kiss, the single is a great introduction to the band and comes with remixes by SX, Cruelty and Royal-T, while the online video was picked up and recommended by Ed Sheeran, SBTV, Semtex, Sway, Smiler, Master Shortie, Chantelle Fiddy and MistaJam among others.
