8 May 2009, 07:30 by dr_rogersI saw 4, yes 4 bands tonight:
Drive A: They don't make punk like this anymore. I'd look them up.
Nightmare of You: I now really like the song "My Name Is Trouble", though the song itself is pretty sad. They're not as bad as I thought.
Saves The Day: I sang along, and I was a happy girl seeing them for the first time and hearing songs from their first album. Chris Conley no longer has hot pink hair, but the t-shirt I bought with their logo on it sure is. They got me totally fired up for...
Alkaline Trio: They only played 2 songs off the new album, but since I haven't really liked the new album much, that was kind of a relief. Lots of songs from Good Mourning and Crimson, a couple off of Maybe I'll Catch Fire, and songs from the older CDs. I nearly lost my voice over "This Could Be Love". Cutest Moment of The Night Award goes to the guy who proposed to his girlfriend on stage before the encore started. Everyone cheered, and it was adorable.

1. What's your favorite song by 14? Lupe Fiasco
Hip Hop Saved My Life I'd say; or Dumb It Down...for once a rapper who doesn't make songs about exclusively sex and shooting people? REALLY?
2. How did you get into 20? Amy Winehouse
A few of my friends on a forum I used to frequent would rip her to shreds on a daily basis due to her trademark beehive (WHY DID SHE HAVE TO CUT IT OFF?). So I was like, what the hell, I'll try her out, and got Frank. Which was just an amazing debut. God, I love tortured crackbaby singers.
3. Who is your favorite member in 8? Fiona Apple
4. What's your favorite lyric by 29? ayumi hamasaki
Fuck if I know...I haven't listened to her for years and I don't know what the lyrics even mean. She just sings very prettily hahaha
5. Have you ever seen 22 live?
It's a tie between Augustana and KT Tunstall, and no I have not. But I DEFINITELY plan to if I ever can, and I've been called from an Augustana concert. …

I plan on avoiding music festivals in the future the best i can! Bloody nightmare. The bands were amazing though. Next time I'm going to side shows unless one of my FAVOURITE bands are playing and not doing a sideshow... like Deftones last year.
Weather was BOILING hot but at least there was a cool breeze. I think it was worse last year when it was cold and raining.
I waited over an hour to get into the damn place and there were no signs anywhere. Still Remains had to pull out because of an airline mishap and food poisoning so that was a shame and The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus had already pulled out. Because of the bands that had to pull out a lot of bands weren't playing according to the timetable. I managed to catch like 2 City and Colour songs ... Comin' Home and Day Old Hate. It was amazing of course. The crowd for that wasn't too bad either. Many people missed the set though because it started about an hour early.

20 Dec 2005, 19:14 by Galahad_duLacI should have spent the last hour with writing a term paper about China's Economy... But instead i used my time to think about beautiful songs.
There are different ways a song can be unforgettable, different ways a song can effect someone's soul. Sometimes the lyric touches you, and sometimes the melody get's you. And in some cases a song creates pictures in your mind you will remember every time you hear it.
I thought about this a long time and I think its not the music that creates these feelings or pictures in our minds. Its our mind that crafts those emotions, those pictures, those hopes and those fears into the music.
Music just opens a door and leads us a way. It's some kind of anchor for our emotions, it strengthens our feelings in some way.
Music is able to break a heart. Or even heal one.
Anyway... Whats absolutly essential for a heartbreaking moment is the right girl ;-)
The lists contains many barely unknown songs and some real classics. …
