Cigánski diabli - “Gypsy Devils” is the name of a unique combination of musicians who has reached something what was reached only by a few in the Central Europe since 1991. Their compositions are popular among thousands of loyal fans as well as music critics worldwide. Virtuous violin solo of the first violin player Štefan Banyák, riveting performances of the magic dulcimer player and bandmaster Ernest Šarközi, beautiful colour of tones of violoncello of his wife Silvia, clarinet mastery of Zoltán Grunza and perfect rhythmical and harmonic interplay of the whole orchestra guarantee a musical performance of the highest quality.

“Gypsy Devils” are bringing original works, nobly arrangements, unusual musical combinations and new image. Tradition is enriched by their solo musical projects, by cooperation with symphonic orchestras, by Austrian pianist Paul Gulda in projects “Haydn alla Zingarese” and “Liszt-Roma Rhapsody”, as well as their latest CD recordings (“Dobré časy-Good Times”, “Adagio-Furioso” and “Carmen”) where they very skilfully combined classical pieces, for instance by T.Albinoni, J.Haydn, N.Paganini, J.Brahms, P.Sarasate, A.Dvořák, G.Bizet, etc. with other musical genres: jazz, ethno, flamenco, Gypsy music and added great rhythmical and harmonic changes enriched with extraordinary virtuosity that is an integral part of the artistic character of the Gypsy Devils.

Orchestra has performed at 5 continents and in 35 countries in the world – USA, Australia, Canada, Japan, China, South Korea, Mexico, Egypt… and almost whole Europe. Prestigious concert stages where the orchestra performed include Berlin Philharmonics, Komische Oper-Berlin, Kozerthaus-Berlin, Royal Opera House-London, Hans Max Saal-Munich, Smetanova síň-Prague, Konzert und Kongressaal-Luzern, Concert Hall-Melbourne, Goldener Saal-Musikverein-Vienna, Is Sanat Hall-Istanbul, Culture Palaise -Novosibirsk… The orchestra has performed at many significant musical festivals, such as: Bad Kissinger Sommer, Beethovenfest Bonn, David Oistrach Festival Pärnu, Liszt Festival Raiding, Euroclassic Pirmasens, World Arts festival Jeju, in May 2012 they shall perform at festival “Prague Spring” – in the Czech rep…

The orchestra cooperates with many top symphonic orchestras, conductors, singers and instrumentalists of various musical genres - Gypsy Kings, Paul Gulda & Vienna string quartet, Symphonic orchestra of Cyprus - Nicosia, Philharmonics of B.Martinu - Zlín, Moravia Philharmonics - Olomouc, National Philharmonics - Košice, Symphonic orchestra of the Slovak Broadcast – Bratislava.

The professional public considers “Gypsy Devils” to be one of the best world orchestras in the category Ethno and World Music and they are also very popular among broad public at home as well as abroad. This fact is supported by invitations to festivals - Sziget festival Budapest, Mondial des cultures Drummondville, Khamoro Prague, Festival de Martigues…and also ten of thousands of sold CDs – this brought them 2 golden and 2 platinum awards and in 2000 they were awarded with 3 Grammys from Slovak Music Academy – Best orchestra, Best album and Best performer.
