Slovak singer/songwriter, used to be member the group Midi. Popular from the 80s. Released new album after 7 years pause in November 2006. This album is called Balady (Ballads) and contains 2 discs in rather original and artistic case. The first one contains 13 new songs, the second 12 biggest hits from 90s.
Banket was a Slovak pop band active between 1984–1991. Its lead singer was Richard Müller. Banket were among the pioneers of electronic pop music in Slovakia and Czechoslovakia in the 1980s. In this regard, they can be considered Slovakia's answer to Depeche Mode.
Slovak band Mango Molas was established in 1998 as a formation of 4 percussionists looking for inspiration mainly in rhythms of South Africa. New members were coming and the sound of Mango Molas has been changing. At present, we may define their production as music coming out of afro-cuban tradition influenced by sounds of West Africa, Arabia or slovak folk music.
Pressburger Klezmer Band (the same as the Preßburger Klezmer Band) is the leading representative of ethno / world music genre and at the same time the first Klezmer band in Slovakia. Pressburger Klezmer Band was created in 1995. Since then they have regularly performed live in Europe and Slovakia.
Lojzo - "Ľudový orchester jednoduchej zábavy obyvateľstva" (Folk orchestra of simple entertainment of people) is a music group from Slovakia. Lojzo plays almost only simple humorous songs. Group's history begun in 1982 and almost finished in 2006 with the death of singer and composer of almost all Lojzo's songs Marián Kochanský († 50, died of cancer).
Ventil RG bola pôvodne punk rocková hudobná skupina pod názvom Skrat, ktorá vznikla v roku 1979 v Rovinke pri Bratislave. Skratka RG znamená „rovinskí gentlemani“ (Robo Grigorov však v jednom rozhovore uviedol, že je to Ventil ručného granátu).
Hradišťan is one of the oldest Czech cimbal bands. Together with a folk dance group they formed a company of the same name and have been remapping Moravian folklore from its roots in the past into modern forms.
