Chroma Key is the brainchild of ex-Dream Theater keyboardist Kevin Moore. It takes the form of very mellow and slightly somber, fairly ambient experimental progressive rock and electronica, which is predominantly keyboard-centred, having practically no common characteristics with what Moore had done with Dream Theater.

Moore has released three albums as Chroma Key:
Dead Air for Radios (1998)
You Go Now (2000)
Graveyard Mountain Home (2004)

All Chroma Key releases have been self-produced and recorded in Moore’s home studios, the locations of which change from album to album.

OSI is the next-gen progressive band... u're saying they're not just because they mix up prog-elements (Jim Matheos) with electronic music (Kevin Moore)... but we're talking about two exponents of the prog music here... maybe Moore did take off that path long ago but he still have the touch and Jim is still on that scene working with Fates Warning... they took prog music to the next level with OSI...

He didn't work with them again since he said he wasn't a fan of the music and I don't blame him. OSI is awful compared to Chroma Key.

Why not? "Progressive" doesn't mean instrumental talent, solos, and poor songwriting. This is different, and pushing boundaries, so I think it's much more progressive than Dream Theater. Not to many albums like Graveyard Mountain Home, Black Clouds and Silver Linings had been done 100 times before
