I began my musical journey back in the early 80’s, as singer/songwriter in a band called ‘After the party’.
There followed a number of other live bands and recording projects, such as The Pistol party, The Lonely Hearts Club and Funkboxlovesausage…
For the most part I was happy just to be the singer and front man, only occasionally offering up my own compositions.
That is until early 1999, when Angel, my wife and muse, invested in a small home studio set up for us. She is also a very talented musician, with her roots in the classical vein.
It was her belief in me that gave me the strength and confidence to carry on alone, when my long time music partner and I drifted.
I adopted the name ‘The Believer’, and the music began to flow.
At first it was with a 4trk,and though I am not a guitarist, I did the best I could to convey the ‘feel’ of the track. With my focus always on the vocals.
My wife kept me focused though, and eventually she upgraded the studio to digital, despite my protestations, and with her superior tech knowledge she showed me the right and wrong way to get the tracks down.
10 years on, I have recorded 6 solo albums, and have worked with musicians in the USA via the net, Under the name ‘Street Angel’, which also featured the vocal and tech talents of Angel herself.
Now and then I have written and recorded with some of those musicians from my early days, mainly for the sake of the vibe, and to hang out…where better than in the studio?
