Biography

Multi-instrumentalist and singer/songwriter Christina Coronel was born in London to Dutch and Colombian parents. Her music began with the piano where she played by ear and improvised for hours. Discovering her talent to sing she entered the British Arts Awards competition and won at sixteen. Having explored playing the flute in various bands, she then taught herself the guitar and began to write songs. After studying painting at Chelsea Art college she started performing her songs with both the piano and the guitar. She made a demo that was discovered by an agent and found regular work performing her own songs for events and hotels internationally and in London. She performed for a conference in India and was asked to fill in for the late Amy Winehouse at the BBC3 launch party. She is next in line to play the piano regularly at The Ritz and has also performed in The National Portrait Gallery, The Waldorf hotel and to the physicist Stephen Hawking at The Milestone Hotel where she has a residency. Working alongside great producers such as Dan Vinci (Florence and the machine), Dean James (Example), Christina has also written a song for the hip hop duo Rizzle Kicks, written and recorded vocals for Chris Bailey (Hed Kandi Dj) and collaborated with Tricky. Her music has been reviewed by Timeout and several of her songs have been played on the radio.
