Christian Hildebrandt’s choral compositions seem to combine the sound of contemporary nordic choral music with the polyphonic style of the 15th and 16th century. He has also composed chamber music and computer music in a flowing style often with a large number of repetetive simple melodic lines. More info:

Magnificat II – Magnificat Fragmente The Virgin Mary listened to the Angel Gabriel with joy and fear, when he told her the news about the new King she had been chosen by God to be mother for. This Magnificat setting from 2007 seeks to express the difficult mixture of feelings which follow the entrance in life of a new human being. Happiness, fear, loving care, doubt, gladness, anger and powerlessness. The thought behind this work is, that when a newborn life comes into the world the old life will be fragmented.
