The band’s name was a corruption of then massively popular fashion designer Christian Dior’s name. This line-up of the band released their only album, Only Theatre of Pain, in 1982. A dark, sinister style of punk rock. The album gained local success. A year later the band completely broke up.
Singer Rozz then teamed up with members from the band Pompeii 99 founded by singer, guitarist, song writer Valor Kand. Rozz took over vocals leaving Valor to focus on guitar. Pompeii 99 had released one album, Look At Yourself, to much acclaim; it, too, can be said to have an apocalyptic theme with a punk rock flavor though some songs, such as “Love Me For My Mind” are far more pop in nature. Pompeii 99 had been planning their first tour when it was proposed by their French record company to merge Pompeii 99 into a new version of Christian Death which, after some debate, was agreed upon. Thus, began the new line-up of Christian Death and the first Pompeii 99 tour became the first Christian Death tour.

V lol. I heer yiz. I am drunk again, btw. jsut saying. sp only alcoholic failutres like rozz. But yeah, I have no problem w/ people who pref. Valor. But, for me personally, Rozz will always trump Valor'sCD. <3 sorry I can't sype.

i understand your not a fan, as i am not much of a fan of Rozz's music...i usually stay quiet and don't argue who is better, cause really Rozz's CD and Valor's CD..IMO are 2 different bands..honestly my two all time CD records are Valor's stuff..just saying that Valor really took the Anti-Christian to a place that wash;t for Rozz..and Valor couldn't really do Goth all that well.. Sexy Death God has it's moments. I do like Catastrophe Ballet as a goth album.

Also, I wanna clarify, If I actually thought valopr were good, I wouldn't be pretending to hate his music. The whole "valor stolle cd" argument is irrelevant. I like a handful of valor-era songs, even..... just, generally speaking, I think his music is total butt.

Valor came up witht eh ide ato collaborate with CRADLE OF FILTH in his, like, 90's or something. i can't tell if you;re kidding because im drunk and this is the internet, dammit. tell me u jokin bruv. also, I am not just being a jerk when I say I honestly think SDG is excrutiatignly bad.

"anything worth listening to"...was not looking for a serious response..just tired of reading how Valor Kand is a piece of crap and should be killed...all i know..in my Opinion ..Valor actually put a slight more intelligence into what Christian Death was..i mean Premature Ejaculation..seriously???

i say fuck to Roger Williams..Valor Kand is a beast, granted nothing good after Sexy death God...but what has Rozz done since after 1990..oh that's right.....

I like the "Atrocities" album. I also like "Only theater of pain" although is not my favourite. And I do prefer Valor's voice and singing ways than Rozz's (kill me now). But I know that Rozz started it all and I do give him credit for it. It's just a matter of taste. <3

@pissonyourdog To be honest, the only song I liked on ''Atrocities'' is ''Tales of Innocence'', the album itself is weak.

I actually -am- deaf! But even I can tell that "Pornographic Messiah" is a bad album just from feeling the club-beat vibrations of songs like their cover of Soft Cell's "Sex Dwarf"... Yuck!
