Biography

Chris Singleton is a solo artist from Dublin. Influenced by classic acts such as Bowie, The Beatles, The Stone Roses, The Who and Pink Floyd, his music is characterised by great melodies and an engaging production technique which combines traditional rock and pop instruments (guitars, organ, drums, piano) with contemporary sounds - dirty drum samples and crunchy electronica. Chris distributes a lot of his music for free from http://www.singletonmusic.com.

Very good album, yes most albums you buy have about 2 good tracks on, this has 7 outstanding songs that could give the big boys a run for there money. Ok im a big stone roses , charlatans , oasis fan, But also love the late 60's early 70s humble pie, faces, Rory Gallagher etc. Nothing wrong with this and its free..Keep it up Chris and bring on the new album...

Very great album. One thing that really makes this album great is that Chris isn't afraid to add plenty of melody to his music. It's also got a lot of positivity in it, it's a one of those old records from the sixties that when you put it in your CD player or if you were to just cruise down the road with a song from it playing on the radio, it just puts a smile on your face. That's what music is supposed to be about. Just having fun in life. It's also really cool that while the music keeps an old fashioned rock/pop sound, there's other effects in it as well, as well as a phaser effect you hear in more aggressive rock.

Lol, I was wondering how quickly it would take you to defend your record. If you are good enough you will make it in the music business. You won't suddenly attract millions of listeners after countering my opinion on last.fm!

Rubbish album, as bland as possible and not providing anything new. It's not even worth the use of your time or bandwidth to download his free album.

It's ghood. But thats about it. Not the groundbreaking album some of the Irish media would have you believe. He's certainly no Declan O' Rourke.

Seriously, I put on some NIN, and my headache's gone. Yeah, Twisted City was a waste of my time. I'm kinda pissed off because of it right now.

Hmm ok now I've listened to the whole album. It got kinda boring after halfway-through. I think I also got this killer headache from the never-ending-pop-orgy that album was. Yeah I'm not sure I like it after all.

I just downloaded this album, wasn't really expecting anything, since I just found a link to his free download without ever even hearing his name before. But hey, this isn't bad stuff at all. I agree with the others that it doesn't sound like The Beatles, but no one's really saying that it does anyway. I mean nobody sounds like The Beatles. :P But yeah, I'm not surprised to hear that he's influenced by The Beatles (oh well, who isn't?), some of the backing vocal arrangements remind me of some their arrangements. Not a bad album at all. Maybe not my favorite type of music, but sounds still decent. Since it's a free download, I'll definitely recommend it to some people.
