Luton, United Kingdom (1997 – 2004 , 2005 – present)

Chokai originally formed in Luton, UK in 1997. The original lineup consisted of two brothers, Chris Curry and Simon Curry. Chris left Chokai in 2004 and reformed in 2005 as a solo artist.

Originally signing to 3bass records in 2003, and then signing to Artificial Bliss Recordings Ltd. in 2005, Chokai have released 3 official albums. Tori Umi was the first official release on 3Bass records in 2003, Iko was the first release with Artificial Bliss Recordings in 2005, and the third in 2008, with a notably different, more experimental sound titled Knowledge and Ignorance.

In 2007 Chokai released a freely downloadable mixed EP titled Glade Geita EP, followed by the Shoot ‘em up ace single in 2008. With the release of the third album, Chokai followed up with his more orginal style on the SKP Recordings label with a 2-track single featuring a new track titled “Token robots” and a remastered version of the popular “clockwatcher” track from the 2005 album Iko. Titled Token Robots / Clockwatcher the single was released in early 2009.

With the sad demise of Chokai’s record label Artificial Bliss Recordings, Chokai’s catalogue and new material were now taken on by the Scottish pioneering techno label SKP Recordings who duely released Chokai’s next 2 releases ’86 Space Battle Robots and the remastered tracxs EP from 2006.

Chokai also released and exclusive live performance of the track “Abunai” on the SKP Black label in late 2010. Chokai continues to work on new material.
