Biography
Chiddy Bang formed when Anamege and Beresin met at Drexel University in 2008. After months of support from underground music blogs, the pair released their debut mixtape The Swelly Express via blog Pretty Much Amazing. The release was met with widespread acclaim and led to the group signing a recording contract with EMI in January 2010.
Their first commercial single on the label taken from their The Swelly Express mixtape, Opposite of Adults, samples the Brooklyn group MGMT’s ‘Kids’ and was released on February 21, 2010 in the UK. It reached number 12 on the UK Singles Chart and later peaked at 90 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the US. A second single from the mixtape titled
Truth was released in the UK and peaked at number 50. Following this success, Chiddy Bang released a second mixtape exclusively within the UK featuring remixes and adaptations of popular British artists including Tinie Tempah, Ellie Goulding and Kate Nash. In October 2010 the pair released Chiddy Bang: The Preview - an EP consisting of previous singles and new material - serving as a prelude to their debut album scheduled for release in Spring 2011.

battleaxed: Probably too strong a word. I just feel they are pretty bad, like I was listening to them and studied them a bit and just went, 'wow these are pretty bad'. Just the same themes and repeated lines. I though hip hop artists were renowned (mostly) for shifting themes and clever play on words. But they pretty much just say 'I smoke weed' and 'fame's fun'. Guaranteed not all their songs are like that though. Still like their, music just voicing an opinion.

I know Chiddy Bang featured on Olly Murs' song "Heart Skips A Beat," but have you heard the acoustic version yet? Olly traveled across the USA with a small crew and made a video of the song with nothing but a guitar and a box for drumming. Its a very cool concept and they executed it very well! ChrisFallout: I've never heard of anyone stepping back and saying "These lyrics are so horrible that I'm shocked." It's like the same reaction to an assassination or something. 'Shockingly horrible' lyrics is a new one for me. Or maybe you just chose the wrong word. i don't know

Their lyrics are shockingly horrible I feel. I really like their music though, but all their songs tend to have the same general premise or use repeated ideas and lyrics recycled into a different format. I can still listen to them, just an opinion.
